Spring Cleaning

With it being April and all, I guess this is the most appropriate time to do a bit of spring cleaning, even if it’s only for this modest blog of mine.

With the intention of a fresh start, I switched to a new theme, the 281 by Paul Stamatiou and Neil Patel. Of late, I have embraced the way of the minimalists; clean, stripped-down and simple, yet slick and accessible.

It’s fast too.

To optimize the speed further still, I unactivated and deleted all the unnecessary plugins in this wordpress install and tweaked and hacked my way through a barrage of configuration options and php files.

Adding to that, I’ve made the permalinks “prettier”. No more links with page ids (such as http://www.azizulhadi.com/?page_id=233), instead you’ll see a more humanised form (e.g. http://www.azizulhadi.com/archives/).

So that’s how I spent a fragment of my Friday.

Now with my cyber space spick-and-span, the other place that required some serious spring cleaning is my room.

To achieve this however, I will need at least the whole weekend with an army of 300 strong. Seriously, a person can get lost in my room amidst the clothes and books and stacks of notes and garbage.
